Autumn Leaves

Autumn leaves are beginning to change colour and FALL to the ground. Room 3 students are working on their fine motor skills and artistic choices by picking coloured seeds and making their Autumn Trees.

E is one of our ELL students (English Language Learners) he is learning to identify colours and build his fine motor skills gluing and placing the seeds.

This project was a big hit.

Students are also encouraged to count the number of seeds that they used to help reinforce their one to one correspondence.

Speaking of counting. Our Juniors have started making their number books. They are numbered from 1 to 10. Students are practicing forming the numeral, writing the number word and matching it with the appropriate number of stickers or stamps.

Man Kindergarten acan be a lot of work!

Nothing like a little brisk air in the morning to get students awake and help them burn off some energy. We have a class set of rakes and encourage the students to make leave piles to have fun in!

Unfrotunately there weren't enough leaves to make a big enough pile...maybe in a couple more weeks.
